DESTRUCTIVE FIRE
SUGAR OF MILK FACTORY DESTROYED

INVERCARGILL, This Day. Tho sugar of milk factory at Edcndale was burned to the ground last evening. The fire apparently started in the office and spread with " alarming rapidity. Buildings and plant were valued at £BO,OOO. Much of the plant was only recently installed. The dairy factory alongside was undamaged. Ihe insiuanees are believed to total £40,000. Only the boilers were saved. As the factory had just been renovated in readiness for the coming season its destruction is a serious matter for the dairying industry.
