UNION V. LEAGUE
QUESTION OF GROUNDS (Catted Press Association.l CHRISTCHURCH, July 30. At a meeting of the General Comittce of the Canterbury A, and P. Association on 9th July, on Mr. W. Hayward’s motion it was decided to inform tlie Rugby Union that the association would require the Addington Show Grounds on Kith August. In moving the motion, Mr. Hayward said tliat he did so as a protest against the union’s action in refusing the Show Grounds for a Rugby League match with the visiting English team fixed for 10th August. At a special meeting of the committee to-dav, a legal opinion was submitted on the lease between the association and the union, and as a result the resolution passed on Oth July was rescindcd. The meeting was closed to the Press with regard to the opinion and the discussion on it. TENTATIVE AGREEMENT AT DUNEDIN DUNEDIN, This Day. At a meeting of representatives of various concerned in the dispute which has arisen as a result of the Rugby League’s efforts to play a match in Dunedin, Mr B. S. Irwin acted as mediator among the contestants. After suggestions by the Rugby officials a tentative agreement- was arrived at under which the League game will ba played at Tahuna Park.
