The State Cabinet has approved a tentative agreement arrived at by the loans council in reference to raising a loan of ten million of which the New (South Wales share will be £2,900,000. It is learned that a stop-work meeting of the Seamen’s Union decided that another attempt be made to hold up the Commonwealth steamer Fordsdale on her return from England on Thursday. The trouble is due to the original manning of the vessel. MELBOURNE, Urns Day. Tho Australian Parliamentary delegation sailed yesterday for South Africa. It will pick up the New Zealand party at Fremantle. BRISBANE, This Day. Parliament opened yesterday. The Governor’s speech forecasted inter alia the introduction of a Bill to provide for a maximum of forty-four hours a week. ADELAIDE, This D**y. A settlement of the trouble over the Waimarino at Wallaroo has been reached, and work will bo resumed to-day. HOBART, This Day.
Tho State Parliament was opened yesterday by the Administrator, Sir Herbert, Nicholhj, who .in his opening speech said the financial position at the end of June was more satisfactory than anticipated. The prospect for'revenue during tho coming year was good.
