In his second article in the Daily Chronicle .Mr Fenton McPherson, special commissioner to Australia and New Zealand regarding industrial possibilities for British people, states that New Zealand is an ideal country for newcomer farmers. It is difficult to realise that the country had been developed in such a short space of time. One cannot fail to he impressed by the well laid out towns, splendidly equipped ports, gigantic schemes of water power, and the general use of labour saving devices. But it is not on individual effort alone that the country depends for prosperity. Coupled with that is the collective spirit 1 7 cooperation, which is a phenomenal feature of the economic life. By linking individual with co-operative efforts in production, transport and marketing. New Zealanders are attaining a standard of efficiency which is a model to the ivs: of the Empire. __
