MEETING OF NELSON ASSOCIATION

i A meeting of the Nelson Chautauqua | Association was held last evening in the Marsden Hall. Mr R. Watson was in the i chair. Owing to the number of other . meetings being held on the same evening, j there was only a fair attendance of 1 guarantors. f It was resolved that the box plan open (m Monday, June 23, and that guarantors, season ticket holders and 3/- ticket buyers may reserve seats free of charge, I General satisfaction was expressed at | the capable manner in which the last entertainment was carried out. It wes moved and carried that season tickets for the next five entertainments he sold at 10/- plus tax. It was mentioned in a letter received from Mr Williams (Field Manager for New Zealand that the fifth entertainment. which had been left open, was now ! filled by a company of American musical ! comedy artists; and the company passed through Wellington last week by the Tahiti on their way to Sydney. The second entertainment will he given bv. Mrs Pirie Beyea (Scottish lecturer) and Mr Stanley Brookes (comedian). Many who heard the last company of artists will be, pleased to hear what a Dunedin correspondent, writing to Branch office, Wellington, has to say of their entertainment“ Last night’s Chautauqua performance wonderful success; evreybof.lv delighted ; greatest musical treat we nave had for many years. Dunedin thanks you for sending such a wonderful company of artists.”
