MURCHISON
RAILWAY LEAGUE RESOLUTION
NECESSITY EOR PUSHING ON RAILWAY
Mr J. J3red bury, President of the Murchison Pail way League, lias received the following replies to the resolution (published in these columns) passed at a recent meeting of the League:—
“1 beg to acknowledge the receipt of your letter of the 4th instant, forwarding copy of a resolution passed at a meeting held recently at Murchison under the auspices of the Murchison Railway League, urging the Government to place an amount of £IOO,OOO on the next appropriations for the Glenhope-Murchi-son railway, and that adequate preparations be made to ensure the expenditure of tlie whole amount during the financial year. I have taken note of the representations contained in the resolution and shall be glad to bring them under the notice of the Hon. the Minister of Public Works so that they may have his careful consideration when the estimates are under review.—W. Mass' v. ’
"I have to acknowledge the receipt of your letter of the 4th instant and note the resolutions which were passed at the last meeting of your League in regard to the proposed railway line to (Murchison, and also in connection with the Glen-hope-Murchisou line. In reply, I have to inform you that T shall he pleased to give these matters hiv careful consideration —J. G. Coates.” ‘‘l have received your letter of 4th instant conveying copy of a resolution by your League urging that £IOO.OOO he j placed on next, estimates towards construction of the Glcnhope-Murchison railway. This will have my'very careful attention and support when the time comes.—R. P. Hudson.”
'“I was pleased io receive your note of June 4th. conveying a copy of resolution passed by your League on Saturday last. I shall be glad to do everything possible to secure a more energetic prosecution of the railway construction works, and £IOO.OOO is Certainly notion much to ask for. With kind regards to you all and the assurance that you may .always rely on me for supnort in working for this most necessary linking up.—Harry Atmcre.”
