DISCUSSION AT A, & P. MEETING

When the schedule for (lie forthcoming Show was being considered by the Nelson A. and P. Association General Committee on Saturday evening, a discussion arose regarding half-bred sheep. The President (Mr F. C. Page), who was a member of the Sheep Committee, said, “A terrible lot of people are going in for half-brcds,” and be suggested lbs classes for half-breds be increased by the addition of a class for two half-bred rains. Air Macmahon: Ido you believe in breeding from half-bred rams? The President: I would not have them on the place, but we have to keep up with the times. At the same time he believed a great mistake was being made. Mr A. Max moved the class: be added. He was sorry Mr Macmalmn did not like them. Mr Macmahon : Some years ago wo got into hot water for having a grade jersey bull class in the schedule. Air Alax said there were classes tor half-bred rams already. Air Fairey: There’s no need to worry, boys out hare-shooting will shoot half of them for hares. It was decided to include the addition to the half-bred classes. Air Alaemahon: Don’t let people run away with the idea that ! think halfbred slsetp are no good. It is the ram I am referring to.- They should breed only from pure bred tarns.
