WANGAPEKA TRACK The secretary of the Karamen branch of the Karamea Progress League has written to the secretary of the Nelson Chamber of Commerce re the urgency of the Tadmoi - iVangapeka to Little Wanganui track. It feels sure the Chamber will make another strong effort to have a sum placed on the estimates for _ the completion of the road in question. The secretary adds that Karamea presents a fine opening for a shipping service between Karamea, Nelson, Wellington, and other ports. A general meeting of the Karamea Pi ogress League was held on Tuesday, March 18th. Inward correspondence was read and received. Outward read and approved. Resolved, on the motion of Mr Horrack, seconded by Mr Tunnicliff, that the secretary be authorised to send a copy of Mr * Furkett’s report on the Karamea harbour to the Wellington Chamber of Commerce, and to solicit their support to our request to the Public Works Department for harI our improvement and to urge the Chamber of Commerce to take up business enterprise with the Karamea district.

Resolved, to ask the Tourist Department- to place Karamea on the Official Tourist Road Guide, and the Progress League he asked to support this request. Resolved to ask the Tourist Department to spend a small sum of money in putting a track into the Karamea Gorge, on the TTmere side of the river and to improve the Caves track at Oparara and to put up a notice on the track to Lake Hanlon on the Karamea-Scdonvillc Rond. Resolved, that the Public Works Department be asked to eomnlete the remaining 70 chains of the Karamea Celling wood track. Resolved lo support- the Nelson Chamber of Commerce in its efforts to have the Tadmor-Wnngapeka road completed, and the Hon. Snodgrass he asked to give his assistance to have this important road completed. .
