HULK FOR NELSON

PURCHASED BY ANCHOR COMPANY

The Union Company's coal bulk Mayflower, which for many years past has done its work in Wellington Harbour, has been taken over by the Anchor Shipping Company, ol Nelson, to be used as a stationary coal hulk at the Port. The hulk, in tow of the Alexander, arrived from Wellington this morning after a. t-ow of 16 hours. Captain Hay was in charge of the Mayflower, and it is stated that all the "Pilgrim Fathers" came ashore without a scratch.

The Mayflower is a wooden vessel of 124 tons net register. She was constructed at Tomakin, New South Wales, in 1885. She has a length of 112 ft. Sin. a beam of 22ft. 7in., and a depth of (ft. 2in.
