NEW SOUTH WALES TEAM

SYDNEY, July 23.

The following New South Wales Rugby Union team has been selected for the New Zealand tour :—Nothling, Crackenthovpe, Crossman, Erasmus, Smith, Foote, Stanley, Louden, Buntine, Frousdale, Sheehan, George, Walker, "Meagher, Davis, Erby, Thompson, Fowies, Blackwood, Taylor, Bonnor, Armstrong, Marrott, Elliott, Thorn, Greatorex, Ferguson and Pearce. In the event of Walker not obtaining leave Hesalcin will he included.

NELSON RUGBY UNION The Management Committee of the Nelson Union met last evening. Notification was received from the New Zealand Rugby Union that owing to the New South Wales Union having advised that it could not accept two additional matches on the tour of the N.S.W. team, there was now no possibility of a game being arranged at Nelson. * A letter was received from the C-an-jterbury Union confirming the arrangements "for the representative fixture on August 13th. An appeal was received from the Waimea Football Club in the matter of the recent suspension of F. Bowers, and was accepted for transmission to the N.Z ; R.U. Requests for the visit of a Nelson team were received from Murchison and Pelorus, but the Union’s programme of fixtures is at present too full to admit of acceptance of either of these invitations. Arrangements for the match on Saturday are well in hand, and the committee | are making preparations for the large at- : tendance which is expected. The question of reserving scats came up for consideration. but it was decided that reserves were not possible with the existing accommodation and convenience. Tho town members of the committee are , to meet again on Wednesday and again, if necessary, on Friday.
