A Dunedin Press Association telegram states that Mr II- E. Slmcklock, one of the directors of the well-known firm of 11. E. Shaddock and 00., died suddenly yesterday ns a result of a heart seizure. Deceased is survived by a widow and daughter.
Whilst in Christchurch the Mayor (Mr W. Lock) met Mr Geo. Capper, an old Nelsonian, and journalist. Mr Capper ’assisted at the meetings in connection wit h the/electric light poll and hopes to be in Nelson at the opening of the works.
Dr R. J. Tillyard is leaving Nelson to-morrow on route for Sydney, where h? is to attend the Pan-Pacific Science Congress. It is expected that Dr Till,vard will he absent for about two months.
Mr E. J. Roclio ,who has been Postmaster at Wakefield for past fifteen months, has been promoted to the position of Postmaster at Otorolianga. Mr Roche was formerly in C.P.0., Nelson, and is well-known in Masonic circles du Nelson and Marlborough districts. -
