HORTICULTURAL

FRUIT AND FLOWERS FINE DISPLAY AT DRILL HALL Tho annual combined fruit and flower show was opened at the Drill Kf 11 this afternoon by the Mdyor of Nelson, Mr W. Lock. Tho display, as in previous years, is an excellent one, both as regards fruit and flowers, while 'there are again trade exhibits. A feature is the displays made by orchardists, in which some most effective decorations have been carried out. -',.,. i The numerous exhibits have taxed tho capacity of tho Hall to the utmost, and the general effect is very fine. _ • The Show will continue open till Saturday evening, when the applepacking championship will be competed for. HORTICULTURAL SOCIETY The Nelson Horticultural Society's Autumn) Show is being held in conjunction with the Apple Show.. There is a splendid display of chrysanthemums, the quality being well up to standard.
