At the Aldington market to-day there were fairly big yardtrigs in all sections, and values, except for fat lambs, were inclined to be easier, particularly for old ewes. Store, Sheep.—A fairly big yarding, including sheep from other provinces. The market opened well, but slid back, particularly for old ewes, which made very low prices. The feed jpjosfltion at present is very unpromising throughout the province. Good two-tooth ewes made 30s 3d to 33s 3d, ; good four-tooth halfbred ewes 35s 3d. good sound-mouth-ed ewes 27s 6d t0.29s 3d, two, six, and eight-tooth merino ewes 27s od to 28s 3d, ordinary sound-mouthed ewes 23s to 26s 6d, low conditioned 18s 6d to 22s 6d, failing mouthed 15s to 19s 9d, low conditioned, failing-mouthed ewes lis 6d to 13s 9d, aged ewes 3s to 9s Bd. Good six and eight-tooth halfbred wethers 255, ordinary four and six-tooth wethers 17s lOd to 21s 6d, good forward two-tooth wethers 20s 6d to 23s lOd, ordinary two-tooth wethers 17s 6d to 19s 9d," cull two-tooth wethers 16s Id to 17s Id, good halfbred ewe lambs 22s to 255, good crossbred ewe Jambs 19s 6d to 22s 3d, ordinary crossbred ewe lambs 17s to 18s lOd, halfbred wether lambs 14s 7d to 18s, ordinary crossbred lambs 13s 6d S to 17s, small halfbred wether lambs 10s 9d to 13s lOd, cull lambs 8s to 9s lid.

Fat Lambs. —About 4000 were penned. There was a slightly brighter sale for good lambs, but medium and inferior sorts were unaltered in price. The exporters' value was per lb. Extra prime lambs made 32s to 33s Id, a few special 44s 6d, prime 28s 9d to- 31s 6d, medium 26s 3d to 28s 6d, light and unfinished 21s 6d to 255.

Fat Sheep.—A big yarding. Wether and prime ewe values held up, but medium and light ewes were easier. Exporters operated on a basis of s£d per lb for wethers and up to 4£d fpr ewes. Extra prime wethers made 33s to 365, a. special line 38s 6cl to 50s,'prime 29a 3d to 32s 6d. medium 27s to 295, light 23s 6cl to 26s 6d. Extra prime ewes 325, prime 25s to 28s, medium 22s to 24s 9d, light and unfinished 17s 6d to 21s, old 15s 6d to 17s 3d. Fat Cattle.—47s were yarded, including some good beef. There was a slightly easier demand. Extra prime beef sold at 27s to 28s per 1001 b, a few special 30s, medium beef 23s to 265, unfinished 15s to 20s. Extra prime steers realised £l4 to £l6, prime £lO 10s to £l3, medium £7 5s to £lO, light £5 5s to £7 7s 6d. Extra prime heifers £9, prime £6 to £7 15s, ordinary £3 15s to £5 15s, extra prime cows £9 7s, ordinary £5 10s to £7 10s. Vealers.—Owing to an over-supply, the sale dragged. Good runners made to £4 12s 6d. ordinary vealers £3 10s to £4 ss, small calves 6s upwards. Store Cattle. —Owing to the shortage of feed in the country and the state of the beef market, the demand for stores was slack. Four-year steers made £5 7s 6d, three and four-year £3 10s to £5, two-year £2 10s to £3, yearlings £1 5s to £1 10s. Two-year heifers £2 10s to £3 6s, yearlings £1 to £1 7s. good cows £2 10s. Dairy Cattle.—A fairly good yarding, but an irregular demand. Sales were rather difficult to make. Good second, third, and fourth calvers, ('lose to calving or just calved, £6 10s to £l2 10s, springing heifers, £7 to £lO 10s: extra good £l6. Fat Pigs.—A bigger yarding and a slightly keener demand. Choppers made £2 to £5, light baconers baconers £3 5s to £3 10s, heavy £3 15s to £4 5s (average price per lb 6£d to 6£d), light porkers 40s to 47s 6d, heavy 50s to 59s (average price per lb to 8d). Store pigs.—A bigger yarding and a slightly belter sale. Sows made 555, big stores 45s to 525, medium 29s to 365, smaii 17s 6d to 245, wcaners 6s to 13s.
