NELSON HORTICULTURAL SOCIETY
AUTUMN SHOW The. Nelson H6rticultur.nl Society's Autumn Show will be held at the Drill Hall next week in conjunction with the Provincial Apple Show. It is notified that entries will close on Tuesday next, and may be made at Messrs Hounsell and Co.'s during the clay and at Mr Bolton's shop from 7 to 9 p.m. Chrysanthemums .arc expected to again be a great feature of the combined show. Several new growers have taken up the cultivation of this flower, and as a number of classes have been put on for novices the younger enthusiasts will find a good range for exhibits. A special prize of 10/6 will be allotted for most points in the novice classes, The classes for decorative exhibits have been.extended, and include baskets vases, wreaths, bouquets and a dinner table, etc. It is hoped the ladies -will make good entries in these, thus adding to the general attractiveness of the show. The decorative section was quite a feature last year, and with autumn flowers and foliage so readily available many exhibitors should be induced to display their artistic taste.
