NELSON CLUB’S EASTER TOURNAMENT
The bogey handicap played yesterday morning resulted in N. Oldershaw, Chas. Griffin, and Ivan Davis tieing for first place, returning cards of all square on bogey. These three play off to-day to decide this event. PROVINCIAL CHAMPIONSHIP The surprise of this round was the Stedman-Pharazyn match. Tho general opinion was that Phnrazyn would win by a fair mar-gin; but Stedman, however, struck a lucky day, anti was too much for the Wellington man. Another turning of the tables was the Page-Robison match; the latter plfiyed a. great game and defeated his opponent easily. The results of the second round are>
Stedman heat W. H. Percy, 1 up. N. Rout beat A. Dobison 2 and J. G. Richmond beat H. J. Dodson 8 and 7. Dr Rawson beat H. C. Cock 3 and 2. „ Stedman had . another hard battle, eventually beating his man on tho las* hole.
A Robison retained his morning’s form and had Rout fuTly extended for the greater part of the round. At tho 14th hole, however, Rout was two up. Robison had hard luck for the remainder of the round, and lus opponent won the next four holes, eventually w inning by 2 and 1.
FLIGHT TOURNAMENT
This event is again proving very popular, and many closo and harclfouglit games have resulted. In flight No. 1, G. Pharazyn defeated I/. E. Carter; P.' White-Paisons defeated IT. Page ; C. P. Palmer beat A. Toogood; and F. Dawson beat L. W. Grace. In No. 2, E. B. Moore defeated E. Reid; C. Percy defeated J. C. Crawford; 11. B. Dodds defeated I’ Moore; and F. Dodds defeated F. Reid. No. 3. W. B;. Travers beat G. Johnson; Mi Burnett beat J. Davis ; F. McCabe beat A. E. Mabin on the 20th green; R.. G. Power defeated ;G. Magnus. No. 4 : N. Oldersliaw beat O. Birch ; O’Hara Smith won by default ;M. Rout heat R. Davis; H. S. Robison beat C. M. Turrell. No. 5: Tf J. Cameron beat C. Griffin; V. Riddiford beat H. J. Flatt; H. Mowbray beat Dr Bennett; F. Snodgrass beat JL. Berndston. No. 6; F. L. Swan beat J. A. Mitchell; 11. H. Davies beat L. Friend; R. V. Hufifc beat M." Rogers.

At Pinehurst Hagen and Kirkwood to-day defeated the amateurs Ross and "French in a best ball match three and two. Kirkwood played the round in 6:1 and Hagen 70, their best ball being bo, and their opponents’ 68.
