FOUL -MURDER ALLEGED

MELBOURNE, March 13. Melbourne was startled on Monday morning by another sensational murder story, the details of which, alien brought out in Court, may provide almost as many thrills as the case oi Bertha Goughian. Tho police believe that a liaunless old lady of 65 was foully murdered the body placed on a wood-heap and burned,' and what was left of the bones and clothes was dumped in the Upper Yarra at War hurt on. Mrs Ada Overall is the woman in the case. She was the widow of a nurseryman at Warburton, and highly esteemed in the district. Hoi husband died in February, 1921, leaiing her his estate. Mrs Overall took in a man boarder the following June, audit is alleged that some time later the two entered into ail agreement under which tho man would pay the widow £2 a week for life, he to pay for tho upkeep of the place and to inherit it upon her death. Twelve months later Mrs Overall disappeared, and the man said that she had gone to Port Darwin tor her health. It is alleged that the man was in tlio possession of two receipts for £SOO each, purporting to show that lie bought the whole property from the missing woman. Recently tho relatives of Mrs Overall took action, and detectives were placed on the case. They arrested David Kelly, aged 38, alias David O’Keefe, and charged lnm with the murder of Mrs Overall and with having forged her signature to tho two documents, concerning an amount of £IOOO. . , , • Xl . T! The police used dogs m the case, it is said that false teeth and jewellery have been recovered. The police have found several articled which constitute valuable evidence. Tho most important is a wedding ring attached to a man’s watch - chain. With a microscope the detectives could make out the initials “A. 0.,” almost obliterated by time, on the inside of the ring. This, a set of false teeth, and other articles, the( police say, belonged to Mrs Ada Overall.
