RICHMOND

After a successful term extending over nearly six months. the local Y.M.C.A. will he closed for one month for the Christmas holidays. As showing the interest taken in the association and the use made of the building, it is interesting to note that the monthly attendance of the rooms have been as follows : June (1 week) 163, July 890,1 August 938. September 1307. October 945. November 1391, December 387, malting a total attendance of 6,021 for tiie period. The activities oi the association up to the present have been limited, but social, physical, educational and religious work with games and literature for the. boys and young men, have been instituted, and the attendances have been most encouraging. On reopening after the holiday it is proposed to make an effort to greatly increase activities and membership and a special effort will be made to raise funds to complete payment of the building and furniture, and as soon as this is complete it is the intention of the board to proceed with the erection of the gymnasium for complete physical work which will be a feature of the association. On ciusing for the year the directors wish lo thank all those who have assisted to ( v out the various functions, and to the’public for the interest they have, •shown towards the association, and thrust that with the, extended programme proposed for next yeai that even greater interest will he shown.
