CHINESE ROYAL WEDDING
(By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright.) (Australian & N.Z. Cable Association.! PEKIN, Dec. 1. The Emperor lluanz Tung and Princess Kuo Chia Si were married to-day. Seated on a dragon bed in_ the Palace of Forbidden City early this morning, the seventeen-year-old Emperor and the fifteen-year-old bride xchangod golden cups solemnizing their marriage. The simple ceremony was preceded by an elaborate ritual and feasting continuing for a week. Before dawn a long prhcos'sion took the bride from her father’s house lo the Palace, thousands of people lining the streets. Two thousand mandarins and foreign guests witnessed the ceremony. The Empress entered the Palace never lo leave it again unless the monarchy is restored.
