■ANNUAL MEETING The- annual meeting of tlie above Council was hold in the Nelson InS 1 ifnlc on .Saturday evening. Mr S. E. Bolton occupied the chair and there was a representative, gathering oi members anil intending members. The chairman welcomed the members and Mr Green, the Dominion organiser, and said it gave him pleasure to assist in every way promotion. The .social value of the Council’s meetings were not the least, important function and he hoped to see this phase of the. Association's work greatly developed during, the coining vear. * He dwelt on the value of the organisation as, a basis for a higher and belter class of service. Also its value as shown by Die fact that during 1922 £2IOB had been paid by the Government to members who had suffered by tile hre blight Order-in-Council of 1920. When a case was just the Association could always be relied bn to support its members. The election of officers resulted in Air H. E. Bolton being re-elected chairman, Mr L. Estcourt vice-chairman, ami Mr D. Roper secretary and treasur-
er. * It was decided to support _ Mr T. *D, Lennie well known in civic and 'horticultural matters in Invercargill for Dominion President for 1923 and Mr P. G. Allen of Timaru for South ■’ Island vice president. . Mr Green tlieji addressed Die tn'eeting on various matters of national bitterest describing the progress met with on Ids recent 3000 miles trip through ■the. The usual votes of thanks brought a most successful meeting to a close. Five new .members were elected.
