GLUTTONY TAX AND TEA DANCES

LONDON, Dec. 1. According to the Daily Chronicle’s Berlin correspondent . the Prussian Government is supplementing proposed gluttony tax % by prohibiting so called tea dances, which .are the present rage in Berlin and other cities. Five o'clock tea is served at all hours. ’Dancing is the real attraction i.and tea is conspicuous by its absence. Money % made by the sale of much stronger beverages at exorbitant prices. The Home Office is considering prohibition of Hie sale of . spirits at night lime. The measures are inspired for political rather than economic reasons. The Government believes extravagance ,is making a bad impression on foreign visitors and German working classes. Railway fares, postage and telegraphic hates are being again increased.
