MR ATM ORE AND PARTY POLITICS

(To the Editor) Sir, —Your correspondent “Justice,” in his attempted defence of Mr Atmm'e, makes some remarkable statements'. says of Mr Atmorc. While claiming to riss above party strife, Mr Atmoro is as bigoted and bitter a party man ns is to be found in the length and breadth of New Zealand. Every speech (he. makes is packed full of veilcniouS abuse of the Reform Government turn all its ways. Marvellous this for jl lofty-spirited, impartial, holi-party politician! Yet “Justice” cah , inhoceiiUy ask in all seriousness, “Is Pro Palria absolutely certain that , our hiembbr will Vole For the Opposition Oil every want of confidence division?” Can Justice Or. ahybody else have a particle of doubt ou the subject? Look at Mr Atmore’s past history. Has he not on every single occasion voted against Massey on no confidence motions? Does not every speech be makes clearly indicate that his vote will always be cast to oust Massey and put in Wilford?

Let “Justice” ponder this matter carefully. All this talk of mine about the danger of ‘the impossible Wilford party coming into power is unfortunately no mere bogey. It is a, real and imminent danger. Like many other supporters of Mr Atmorc, “Justice” evidently dreads the advent of Mr Wilford W power. Let him take Warning while there is yet lime. Let him reflect that a vote for Aiilibrb is it vote for WilfWth I hat is nfe certain ils that the sun will lisp. In Mr Gilbert; oil the other hand; we have a man with at Icafet as much ilbihty, energy and experience as Mr Athiore, and a man also whose vote will novel bo used to turn out our present 'Government in order to instal the impossible Wilford party.
