THE GIRLS’ COLLEGE
ANNUAL GARDEN PARTY The annual garden party was held afc the Girls’ College yesterday afternoon, Miss Lorimer (Principal) receiving fier guests on the lawn. There was a record attendance, among whom were ““Old Girls” of each year, to those of the first year, doing honour to their “Alma Mater.” The beautiful grounds of the College were in all their early summer beauty, the English trees looking their best.. The trees on the lawns acting as a break-wind to the “quartergale’ ’ blowing elsewhere; so that th® guests could enjoy the clever, out-door display of drill and graceful dancing of the girls, which did great credit to the . sports 1 mistress. The tennis finals were also played. While for those who enjoy tip-ills there were plenty in the spectacular display of fire-drill, a very necessary art in a big institution. The music was very enjoyably given by Messrs Vitetta Bros. Tho College House was as usual thrown open for inspection.
