TO THE CITIZENS OF NET*SON. LADIES and GENTLI'AM EN.~ I have pleasure in the lirst screening of the Elcvcmßcel Super-Production, “Over The Hill,” At the EMPIRE THEATRE on TUESDAY NEXT, November 21 si, commencing at the Matinee at 2.20 and continuing for a season of Three Nights and Two Matinees only. To our mind litis Picture is absolutely the most ah= sorbing drama ever presented in a theatre. We realise how futile it is to pick amusements that will satisfy everybody. But “OVER THE HILL" is a picture for everybody. Its appeal is so universal, so powerful, so human, and its characters so lifelike, that we feel certain it will grip you as it has thousands of other everyday humans from ail walks of life. “The principal character of its story is a mother — a sweet, wholesome, little old personage who, like every other mother thait ever lived, is made the recipient of all the joys and sorrows—particularly the sorrows—of her thoughtless little Hock. And I am sure, if you see the picture, you will think as thousands of others have thought when they first beheld it, of that old proverb 1 that runs, ‘God couldn't be every place at once, so He made mothers.’ ” This is our chief Reason for giving “OVER THE HILL” an unqualified endorsement without any reservations whatsoever, I'lespectfully yours, W. SUKRICLL, ■Empire Theatre, Tlio following arc a few unbiased opinions:— REV. ,1. M. STEWART. Devonport Congregational Church: "It was one of the finest pictures 1 have ever seen, and one which everyone should, see.” REV. H. N. SMYTH, St. Peter’s Vicarage, Ouehunga; "It is a picture which must do good. If it inspired half of the girls to become mothers like that, we would have 1 added a rich jicset to our fair Dominion.”

I MR. SHEEHAN, Secretary, Hibernian Society, writes: — : | “A wonderful picture, and one winch must arouse in us all a fuller ap- ! predation of the sacrifices made for us by our dear old Mother.” L. C. CHAMBERS, SolicitoMJenenii, Tasmania,' writes: — ‘‘A magnificent picture and a wonderful lesson. I have seen nothing tinoi' in Australasia.” J. W. EVANS, Esq., M.LA. ; ‘‘l have never sat for two hours in a picture theatre, so thoroughly interested as I was this morning. Every person, whether father, mother, son, or doughter should nut fail to see this splendid production.” faiiamoUnt to-night -E IN AI, SCREENING OK ETHEL CLAYTON In Her aUest Paramount ETHEL CLAYTON Picture, "EXIT THE VAMP” Big Supporting Programme, including Episode 15 of "THUNDERBOLT JACK” (the End).
