(United Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH. No*. 16. At the first wool sale of the season 4730 bales were offered. There was a good attendance and a particularly keen demand for all classes of wool, and prices showed an advance on closing rates of last season, amounting in the case of merinos to 4d to sd, half-bred 4d.
