CHRISTCHURCH WOOL SALES
(United Press Association.)
CHRISTCHURCH, This Day
The predication that the line wool market would record a substantial improvement this season was more than realised at the opening of the Christchurch sale. Commandeer prices were exceeded in all wools of fine quality. There was a very material recovery also, 'hough not to the same extent, i:i coarser grades. The catalogue of 4370 bales consisted’ mostly of small farmers’ lots, with occasional station lines. Generally the wool was in very fair condition. * A proportion showed signs of earthinc.s.H through turnip feeding, but the bulk was free from seed, although it was stained by the i'tcquency of nor’-westers. Bidding was keen from the outset, and apparently buyers possessed very ehn • tic limits.
