GREAT DAY AT BOTANICAL RESERVE

Great interest is being taken in the Plunket.Fair to be held in the Botanical Reserve on Saturday, afternoon next. It is anticipated that this efiorl will eclipse all previous records and that tlic result will he a substantial addition to the funds of the Plunket Society to help push on' the good work that has been undertaken in Nelson and district. I There will be numerous competitions I and stalls, including at magic_ well, which 7 will be a centre of attraction for I the children. Among the competitions ar,e:—peco'rated pram with baby; decorated push cart with baby; dolls’ pram, decorated and wheeled by child under JO; same for child 10 to 15 years; decorated dolls’ pram or push cart with doll; decorated tricycle; decorated parasols, by child under 17; decorated cake stand, by child under 15 years; decorated cake stand by adult. ‘ There will also bo a competition for guessing the weight of a wedding cake, and also for guessing the name of a fairy doll. Mesdames Manoy, Dagger and K. Saxon will be the judges. Posters for the competitions have been hand-drawn by Messrs W- Houlker and R. Gilbert. ‘ • Admission to the ground will be 1/-, children free.
