NOTES ON THE RACING (By Telegraph.—Special to The Mail.! CHBISTCHIJUCH, Nov. .11. Rain started to fall at midday and ci.ntinied throughout the afternoon, considerably affecting the attendance at the concluding day of the Canterbury Jockey Club's meeting. Cerberus carried most support in the Suburban Hurdles in which Mazama and Black Art were also well supported. Stray Shot and Grange showed the way to Cerberus and Black Art for a mile. Cerberus then rail to the front and vj;n with ridiculous ease by four lengths fivii) Black Art, with Sir Fanciful finishing fast three lengths away, followed by Rowan, Grange and Mazama.

Little River. Passionless, Battle Scene and Martian Miss wore fancied in that order for the Cressy Welter. Listening Post, Moorland; and Little River were in front, for half the distance when Moorland retired, leaving Listening Post in the lead. Passionless put in a strong vim from the distance, but though she passed Little River she y,-A failed to reach Listening Post, who won by a bare head. Little River was a length away with Battle Scene and Etta next.

The favourite, Danger Zone, prevailed in the 'Seymour Handicap. Others well backed were Santiago, Valdamo and Bosker Boy. Petuna and Happy Warrior were fft'st into line for home, hut both faded out before the distance was reached. Then Bosker Boy, Santiago and Danger Zone put in a strong claim. In a good finish Danger Zone won by half a length from Santiago, who was ( head in front of .Bosker Boy. Close up came Kao Tane and Balefire. The public pinned their faith to Sunny Loch in the Members' Handicap, Songbird. Anomaly, and Grotesque being next in request. From an indifferent start, of which 'Patau Tatau got all the worst, Sunny Loch and Bon Spe-: were first to show out. With two. furlongs gone Chimera joined Bon Spec in tli" lead, the pair being followed by Sunny Loch, Songbird, and Economist. Clumera was first into line, for home, but at the distance she retired in 'favour of Songbird, Bon Spec, and "Sunny Loch. Then Limelight came along with a great run and won by a length from Songbird. A neck away came Sunny Loch, closely followed by Mantua, and Anomaly.

Another favourite in Top Score (who was coupled with Owlscombc) won the Pioneer Handicap, the ifext fancies, Avonlea and Parody, filling the places. T<;p Score and Avonlea raced toge!ho>for two furlongs, when Top Score drew out and won easily by three lengths, Avonlea being a similar distance in front of Parody, who heat Owlscombc by a head.

Many Kittle, sixth favourite, effected a surprise by annexing the Stead Memorial Gold Cup race, for which Winning Hit went out a better favourite than The Hawk and Gasbag. The Hawk was first to show out, followed by Zouave and Gold Light. At the end of the two furlongs The Hawk and Gold Light were just clear of Zouave. Trespass, and Many Kittle. Going along the back Gold Light and The Hawk continued in front, but, at the six furlong post Many Kittle joined them. Zouave and Winning Hit being at the head of the others. The HaAvk dropped back running round the turn and at the five furlong post Gold Light and Many Kittle Avere just in front of Winning Hit, Avith 'Die HaAvk and Zouave next. Many Kittle led Winning Hit and Gold Light into the straight and Avon easily by. three lengths from Gasbag, who finished very fast from the distance and boat Winning Hit by four lengths. Tressayer was fourth, Trespass and Zouave being next, Avith The Hawk last. Epitaph, who Avas made a warm favourite for the Juvenile Plate, was Tn front all the Avay and avoii easily by three lengths from Tukia, Avho beat Wild Hind by five lengths. In the Fewlalton Handicap, the concluding race of the meeting, King's Trumpeter, second favourite, won by a length from Enthusiasm, who Avas the public's next fancy. Deucalion, who carried most of the. money, was never prominent.
