COMPANY
It is understood the Government has suspended the Shipping and Seamen's Act, Section 51 of the Shipping and Seamen's Act, 1909. gives power to the Minister to dispense with the observance off any requirement re the manning of the ship, if he is satisfied that the requirement has been* substantially complied with. This enables steamers to be manned by volunteer crews. 'The Anchor Company announce m this issue that they are calling for volunteer seamen, firemen, trimmers, etc.
