SALVATION ARMY
ARRIVAL OF COM MISSION HR HOOGAHD (United Press Association.) WELLINGTON, Oct. 11. Commissioner Robert lioggard and his wife, who are to take charge of the Salvation Armv in New Zealand, arrived in Wellington'to-day, and will he accorded a civic welcome to-morrow .and will be, welcomed at the down Hall on Sunday afternoon at a special ceremony arranged by the Salvation Army. Tho Commissioner and Mrs lioggard received a warm welcome as they came ashore. There was an imposing gathering of (he Salvation Army on the wharf, and a large contingent of children irom the Army’s home assisted in the welcome. The Commissioner lias had a long and interesting career since he joined the Salvation Army in Beverley. Yorkshire, 42 years ago. * For two years the Commissioner was in charge of the Army s work in Scotland, and afterwards in South Africa.
