TRIPLE TRAGEDY
THREE MEN FOUND, SHOT (By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright.) (Australian & .N.Z. Cable Association.j t HOBART, This Day. A triple tragedy surrounded by mystery occun-ed near Swansea. The body of an elderly man, Edward Buncombe, living alone in the bush, was found in his hut, fatally shot. The hut, where deceased was supposed to have a considerable sum of money, was rifled. Later the dead body of a Second man, Thomas Carpenter, was discovered in the vicinity shot in the back of the head. Trooper Henderson proceeded to the scene m a car. Nearing Duncombe’s hut he got out, leaving his revolver in the car, telling the driver he would’not, want it. Henderson failing to return the driver went to the hut and found the trooper shot dead. The indications .pointed to a terrible struggle. The supposition is that the murderer returned to the hut and Henderson surprised and was trying tovarresthim when he received a fatal shot. » j A strong force 6f armed police and civilians is scouring the district m search of the murderer.
