IN NORTH ISLAND (United Press Association.) WELLINGTON, This Day. Mr David Miller, Government Entomologist, states that the eucalyptus pest reported as destructive in the Redding district, is not lireblight, as lately stated, but gumtroo scale, which ivas imported from Australia about 1900, and became very destructive in Canterbury and Otago till overcome by a special ladybird. Last season infection became apparent in Taranaki, but fortunately the ladybird appeared there at the same time, and no doubt will get the upper hand.
