Wo received a great reception at the Criterion Hotel on our return, and it gave me great pleasure to tell them of the the splendid treatment wo had received at your hands, and of the real sportsmenlike spirit in which you took your defeat and the impartial manner and unfailing courtesy of your people. I can assure you that my team fully appreciate the many kindnesses bestowed upon them, not only by yourself and your President, but also by tho Nelson supporters of the grand old game. I sincerely trust that when your team visit us (I know you will be one of the party) your stay here will be as pleasant and enjoyable as our stay with you. f can assure you. wo will do our level best to return tho compliment, and it will not he my fault if yon do not have a. very enjoyable time. In memory of the line time we had in Nelson, I would ask you to kindly accept (from me personally) a photo of our team, which T hope will help to further bind the good comradeship which existed in Nelson.”

“We arrived safely back to Wanganui, and received a great reception at tho Criterion Hotel on onr return, fit which 1 can assure you, I did not forget to tell the crowd of the splendid treatment we received from you all in Nelson ami also of the true sporting spirit manifested by your team and tlie people of Nelson. 1 regret very much that our stay was .so shoi t, but of course there must he an end of such good things, and so we had to submit to tho inevitable, but, nevertheless, there will remain long in onr memory, the many acts of kindnesses shown to us not only by yourself, but by the Nelson cricketers, and also by your numerous supporters and Irier.ds, and when yon visit us next .-easua, wo will will endeavour to make your stay with us ns pleasant as we possibly can, and try in .some way to return the compliment, which 1 can assure yon will be a very hard task to perform. But where there’s a will there’s a way, and if I have the honour of again being elected bon. secretary, I. shall leave no stone unturned'to try and equal the extraordinary reception wo received at your hand's. In memory of the splendid time we had, I would ask you kindly to accept (from me personally) a photo of our team, which I hope will remind you of our deep appreciation, of the many kindnesses bestowed upon us, by yourself; which I can assure yon we will never forget, as we are indeed longing to shake hands again with such a true sport.
