SIDNEY, April 10,
The centenary show of i lie Royal Agricultural Society opened in glorious weather, no effort being spared to make I lie occasion a marked success. Preparations and prize money arc on a lavish scale. The entries are a record, being nearly ten thousand. The city is crowded with country visitors and die attendance was exceptionally large for the opening day. SYDNEY, This Day.
At the show, in Jersey bulls, one vear and under two years,-the- Department of Agriculture’s Aster’s Diamond King, recently imported from New >eaiaiicl, look first prize. Mr Tapp, secretary of the New Zealand Jersey Breeders' Association, who was the judge, -said the exhibits hardly reached the” New Zealand standard, but, excepting several instances, the yearlings were as good as any he had seen this year. Features, of "the. fdimv arc that the State and districts' are reflecting the good season. The former has. an instructive display of the results of extensive experimenting m plant development and breeding. _ Id order to mark its centenary the Society is awarding a silver medal to every'champion and a bronze medal to the reserve, champion in the various sections, also special cups and trophies befitting the occasion. m.ii.iiii i nimar am will “
