At a series of meetings held throughout the district on the return of Mr G oorge Stratford, Irom Loudon, if, was decided that a special display of Nelson apples would he made at New Zealand House, London, during the current season, and growers generally, signified their willingness to supply fruit for the purpose. The Director of the Horticulture Division has just notified the Council tlmt accordingly the High Commissioner has been instructed to withdraw 1.3 to 2B cases from each boat for this purpose, ami the Council has acquiesced in this quantity' being, taken from the Westmoreland 1 , Whangaratta,, Athenic, Corinthic, and Zealandie shipments.
