LIQUOR TRAFFIC IN BRITAIN

(By Electric Telegraph—Copyright.) (Australian & N'.Z. Cable Association.) LONDON, July 20. The text lias been issued of the Government's Licensing Dili introduced into the House of Commons. The measure applies to the whole oi Britain, and provides that Hie earliest hour ut which liquor shall he procurable «hall he eleven in the* morning ami the latest ten in the evening, except in the Metropolis, where the latest hour will be eleven. ilotus ul opening are limited to eight in the. provinces and nine in London. Meals with drinks can bo ordered on week days in London between eleven and midnight' in Hotels and «rostanrants, and eleven and 11.110 in licensed houses and clubs. The central liquor board is abolished, and its property transferred to the Home Secretary and Secretary for Scotland, who are empowered to continue the board s scheme of Stale management of (he liquor traffic.
