ARRESTED ON THEFT CHARGE
WIFE OF NOTED TENNIS PLAYER (By Electric Telegraph—-Copyright.) (Australian A N.Z. Cable Association) PARIS, March 21. Airs Lowe, wife of Gordon Lowe, the tennis player, has been arrested at the Cannes tennis courts charged with stealing a pocket book said to contain 5000 francs. ARREST CAUSES SENSATION. LONDON, March 22. A sensation was caused in the Riviera, by the arrest of Mrs. Gordon Lowe, She was a popular figure at Cannes and Nice, dresses lavishly, and entertains sumptuously. The Mail correspondent says the arrest was the result of police vigilance, as a great number of pocket-books had been disappearing. Airs. Lowe’s husband interviewed her, at the police station, after which she was examined .in the presence of her counsel, and then admitted to bail in sixty thousand francs. She appears in court on sth April.
