' WON DUNLOP (United Press Association) DUNEDIN, This Day The final for the chess championship between F., B. Duyalop (Qamarii) and A. W- O- Davies (Dunedin) concluded to-day. The game was closely contested till the 24th move, when Dunlop got past a pawn and broke up Davies’s position. Dunlop won a knight at the S4th move. He continued to attack strongly and Davies resigned on the 50th move. Dunlop is 34 years of age. He came to ■ New Zealand ■ from Scotland when an infant. He learned chess in London when following his dental studies. He returned to New Zealand in 1906. His won the Otago junior championship in 1909 and the senior in 1910.
