WELLINGTON, This Day

Since the first distribiition of profits from the estate of the late T. E. McArthy in 1913, roughly half of which goes to benefit charitable and educational institutions in the Wellington district, the impressive sum of £41,222 has been distributed according to the terms of the trust. The amount available in the manner referred’ to for distribution as a result of operations in 1919 is £6456, or £1353 more than in the preceding year. At the annual meeting of the Board of Trust yesterday seventy applications for grants were received from charitable and educational institutions and of that number sixtythree were considered favourably.
