CHILDREN SLEEP IN THE BUSH
- --- >—• DISTRESSING UPPER DULLER CASE. At a sitting of the Juvenile Court yesterday afternoon, before Air. J. S. Evans, S.M., an application by the police to have three children from the Upper Bnlier—two boys and a. girl, aged respectively 12, 11, and 9 years—--committed to the Nelson Receiving Home, disclosed rather distressing features. , lb was stated that the children had ran away from home, and had been sleeping' in the bush for several days before being taken charge of by Constable Drummond. AU the bedding t-be children had with them consisted of two .sacks and n bit of old blanket, and they made their way as far aw the Lake Station. The police state that when questioned the children did not know what religion they were, -and that they had had practically no education. .1 he Magistrate made the order asked for.
