ANOTHER DEPUTATION TO PREMIER (United Pbess Association) WELLINGTON, This Day Mr Massey has agreed to receive another deputaion from the Post v and Telegraph Conference which will probably wait upon him today. OAMAEU, This Day At a large meeting of the Oamaru branch of the Post' and Telegraph Officers’ Association on Saturday night the following resolution was unanimously carried: “That this branch of the Post and Telegraph Officers’ Association unanimously supports the contention of the Conference that the salaries ox officers should receive immediate review, independent of any railway tribunal, which may possibly last indefinitely, and the branch supports the Conference in any action it may decide upon,” QUESTION OF DIRECT ACTION WELLINGTON. This Day. _An important decision was ar-* rived at by the conferene of the New Zealand P. and T. Officers' ‘ Association this morning, when a * motion was passed to amend the constitution of the association to allow of direct action being taken in times of crisis. This proposed axnendmnei/ of the constitution will be referred in the ordinary course to the membership of the association for confirmation by a postal ballot. Should the members confirm the new coa-, stitution _ the question 'of the taking of direct action at any given time will still be dependent upon the will of the membership as a _ whole and will not be ordered either by the conference or executive on their own initiative, the - point being decided by a special ballot.
