VICTORIAN LOAN

Commenting on the Melbourne press telegram expressing astonishment at Mr Robinsons inability to convert the Victorian loan, and contrasting _ London financiers’ cool reception when the money market was approached, with the enthusiasm they displayed over the Commonwealths efforts during the war, Mr Robinson says on the contrary he receive d_ every consideration from financial circles. The fact is that Victoria can borrow as cheaply, but not more cheaply, than the British Government.
