WOMEN'S NATIONAL RESERVE

(United Press Aroociation.) NEW PLYMOUTH, Feb. 19 The Dominion conference, of the Women’s National Reserve was continued io-day. It was reported that the Reserve is establishing a. nursery in Wellington to relieve sick mothers from the care of their children. The organisation o'“ medical, service detachments was referred to, the objects of which are to meet the. emergency demands of epidemic or war conditions by the establishment of hospital wards, technical .nursing and cooking schools; also trained ambulance detachments and sick nursing classes supplementary to the regular establishments. The following resolution was passed: ‘‘That the Women’s National Reserve in conference assembled, decided to support the petition to the Government asking them to consider the advisability io f granting State pensions ns a subsidy to the earnings of the blind, and to care for those totally ineapf able by that infirmity.’’ The Executive Dominion Council was re-elected as follows: President, Mrs Corliss; organiser Mrs Porter; secretary Mrs Hope; treasurer, Mrs P>oden.
