&OBEBE-MOTUPIKO BRANCH. A well attended meeting of tho Korere-Motupiko branch of the Farmers’ Union was held at Korere on 30th August. Mr O. L, Mead (president in the chair. The Commissioner of Taxes wrote notifying that all the Rost Offices in the district would now be supplied with laud and income tax forms as requested by the branch.—lit was resolved to acknowledge the letter with thanks. Letters were received from Messrs R. P. Hudson and T. A, H. Field, M.P.’s, replying to a resolution which had been sent urging that exemptions from income tax allowed 1 for children, should apply to all children, of a family instead of being restricted to five. Both members supported the resolution, , Mr Hudson adding that, in- Ids opinion, not only should the allowace ho made in the case of income tax. but some substantial consideration should! be extended to those not liable to income tax, as ihe more deserving.
