SCHOOL PLAYGROUNDS
TAHUNA’S NEEDS,
FAVOURABLE CONSIDERATION BY EDUCATION BOARD.
At the Education Board meeting to day a request was received from the Tahuna Committee for an immediate extension of the school grounds, which at present comprise only three-quarters of an acre. The proposal submitted jwas that sections comprising three acres in addition to the present area be acquired. The Board favou’-ably entertained the request, and asked the Committee to furnish further particulars. In dealing with a proposal to rethe Ngatimoti School to a fresh site The Senior Inspector urged that in the event of the School _ being removed the existing school site should bo retained for the headmaster’s use, and pointed out that especially in country districts the grounds allotted for the use of head-teachers was generally quite inadequate, he Inspector’s suggestion was adopted.
