ANNUAL .MEETING.

The annual meeting of the Nelsou. Acclimatisation Society was. held at thel Club room last evening. Mr W. Andrews was voted to .the chair. A The report of the Council for the year was as , follows :-s-, - ... - , Financial.—.The receipts for the year ' ♦ were £lO9 ss; balance carried forward from previous year, £24 8s 4d penditure for the year, . £172 Is 6d (?), leaving a credit balance of £2l 11s 10id. In presenting their report of the past year, your council have pleasure in placing before members the balance* sheet, which shows that the society is in a sound financial position. The , revenue from deer stalking is - about the same ; but the receipts .from fishing and game licenses have. further, declined. This season would., have been a close season for game, - but at the request of the council the Minister has granted an open season locally.
