THE UNMARRIED WORKER.
PROBLEMS OF HOUSING
A new note- was struck at the Dominion Town-Planning Conference says the Post, bv Mr 0. R. lord, of Mam ganui, who* said that m some garden suburbs provision was being _ made tor the unmarried worker of either sox. “The lack of accommodation for this section of the community is already a serious problem in all our towns and cities,” he said. “The trouble is being met abroad, where hodsing developments are being met-in different ways, in some cases by houses being built so that married workers who wish to do so may accommodate one or more boarders without more ntrusion into the family privacy thai> is avoidable. In other cases, and this is, I think, more general, ami in any case infinitely more desirable, proper boarding bouses with nil the comforts of a good hotel are being erected. This point seems to me worthy of the prompt and serious consideration of town-planners.” •
