Preliminary arrangements had been made for a ™ atch f* graph ’with the Timaru XJhesas* Chu>> fiw k 1 heavy snowstorms in Canterbury damaged telegraph lines and the Department could not spare a wire for the match. This season it is hoped to arrange matdies with Timaru, Christchurch, Blenheim and Wellington. W»tn these mat ch.es in view, ladder and tournament games, members should ha»e an inter | taring season. j The winner of the Chob’a tournament, Mr Angus, was presented Vrtb a ■ v valuable trephy presented by tpe Pr»- , - - sideut Mi B.
