The Hon. J. A. Hanan, Minister of Education, a deputation of Victoria College Council to-day tluu> Cabinet had approved of a substantial gramt for the erection of a new wing at the College, which was badly cramped for accommodation;. The Minister regretted that some people of wealth did not realise their obligation to use a portion for the advancement abid welfare of the comnulnity. There had been liberality during the wan.*; but the same must be continued during the period of reconstruction , if the freedom won by the war were to be put to the highest use the efficiency of the University must , be maintained.
