KNOCKED DOWN BY MOTOR-CAR
—; (United Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, Hay 2. , David Henderson Brown, aged 63 : years, was knocked down by a motor car last night, ami died in the Hospital#] early this morning. At the inquest the ] evidence driver 6f the car, C. Barnett, and of the occupants thereof, went to show that the deceased was encountered suddenly iri the middle of tho road, and, though everything possible was done to avoid him, one of the headlights struck him and; threw him on to the bonnet of, the car, from which ho. fell on to the road. The car was travelling at 12 to 15 miles an hour. The inquest adjourned to enable a post-mortem examination to be held. * ■
