The attendance yesterday was fair, but nothing like what the excellence of the show warrants. In no place in New Zealand could such a display of chrysanthemums be seen. It Uof interest to note that tho veteran, grower, Mrs Merrick, has reached the age of 77, alia is still able to stage the best blooms. She has been growing chrysanthemums for nearly 30 years, and as an exhibitor with the'old Society and the present one has won many cups and other trophies. The work entailed in growing this flower for show is enormous, yet at 77 Mrs Merrick appears to be going stronger than ever. . The show will conclude to-mght, when ifc is honed there will be liberal public patronage.
